We made great progress last week! We added color to the design and put them into the prototype. Here’s the design of our prototype before softs:

We made use of softs and did a great playtest. We showed our product in the hall of EA and attracted a lot of EA playtesters. We gave them a task to write down the most interesting thing they found about the modding society using our tool, and put these onto a board.

From the feedback we gathered, people would like to have some other features including the ones that were already on our schedule. By this time, we hadn’t finish some of the functions on the programming side, the most important of which were pack release information and what’s hot last week. With only one week left, we worked together and decided on the easiest solution to show the pack release info. We also helped the programmers to filter out more useless keywords.

Another big fix is for the creator’s keyword breakdown pie chart. Before our playtest, we removed this pie chart since one mod may have multiple keywords, so the percentage of the keywords doesn’t add up to 100 percent. We introduced the tags, and you can activate and deactivate the tags to hide and show the mods related to that keyword on the tag. However, since the mod is showing the color of the keyword that has higher ranking, it became confusing for the users. We improved it by removing that coloring and adding dots at the front of the mod’s title.
