Newsletter 12: Week 12

The team spent most of their time, getting the balance right in the game. By tweaking different set of parameters in the game such as the cool down time between sending the minions, time in which the minion generates back, amount of time for the blocks to glow to break the bridge.

The artist worked on getting in the wood minion into the game and making concept art for the environment. They also worked on making different animations for the water minion and also setting up rigs for the fire and the wood minion. The game parameters such as the cool down time, time for refilling the minions are important aspects of our game. So, the programmers spent time, in getting in the right combination of parameters to make the game more interesting and playable. Later on, while testing, the team also found out that, there could be the smallest possibility, that both the players would shoot fog together on the field. So, in that case, for quite some time, the players would not be able to see what is going on in the game. To solve that, we decided to reduce the time of fog during this special case.

This week the team is preparing for two play tests : 1. At EA and 2. At CMU-SV Carnival. We are going to make some tweaks in the features, add in new models for the game. After the play test, team would be making couple of changes based on the feedback to get ready for softs on Tuesday 21st April.
