Newsletter 4: Week 4

Date : 6th February, 2015

This week was pretty interesting was Team Illusions. They had both ups and downs. The team went a little slow in its overall game design process and deciding upon a particular. But, then it picked itself up and starting working for the quarters next week.

From a technological stand point, we made decent progress but it was difficult to come up with game ideas that could actually be fun, cool and interesting with the tech that we are using. The programmers are doing a good job in digging into different SDK’s and finding ways that we could make a game out of it. By end of this week, we came to know that, we can indeed make a multiplayer game. Currently, we are still working to get cool interactions, and to see if multi-image tracking works in the stereo-mode (see through).

From the art side, our artist made some quick models to test the art pipeline for the tech, and the programmers made use of those models to build 3 quick prototypes. The 3 prototypes included different interactions with the use of the technology. Next, we are planning to test the performance of the technology, with multiple and complex models and animations. It will be interesting to see how the technology responds to the stress testing.

From the game ideas perspective, the team started with a low note but picked up by end of the week. The team hopes to get useful feedback on the prototypes and game ideas during the quarters and would nail down on the idea right after the quarters.

The team, this week will focus on getting useful feedback from the quarters and pick up a particular direction to start building things and make their way to make a awesome, fun, cool and interesting game using these glasses.
