Here are a list of some tips when using the level editor:
- As of now, the level editor ONLY works with Nvidia-based graphics cards. Please ensure that you have the latest drivers before continuing.
- The level editor, as of now, requires a unique version of Panda3d 1.7.1. Another thing that is required is wxPython 2.8.
- When importing models with the level editor, it is highly recommended to determine the scale factor of each model with pivot point of each in the center, unless preferred otherwise.
- When using light, 8 is the maximum of lights the can be used at optimal performance.
- It is not recommended to drag and drop files in the structure that the Storyteller creates. Use the Import Tool to add files.
- Save, save, save. This is universal when working on computers. Save after everything to be sure 😛
- When changes are made in Storyteller, always export and overwrite. This will give the structure updates changes.
- When implementing cutscenes in conversations, do not skip it in-game. Be patient.
- When adjusting ropes in editor after it has been created, it’s recommended to move the rope and other objects one at a time.
- Scaling particles may cause performance hitches, it scales the emitter, not particle size.
- For a scene, it’s recommended to have less than 10 characters, all together.
