Week 5

Hello again, friends!

This week, the Sirena team was making the last preparations to gear up for full production.

Our aim is to have a single shot rendered and moving by the end of Monday the 18th, and so that’s how we’ve been planning out what we have to accomplish. We started the week by putting together a sprint chart to achieve that goal by the end of the week.

A look at our process.

Jared took last week’s storyboards and made them into a 2D animatic. By putting the images in video form and pacing out the individual moments, he was able to get a better understanding of what worked and what could be cut. Next week, we will start taking that 2D animatic and turning it into a 3D animatic. We want to have that 3D animatic ready to show for Halves.

In terms of the model we purchased last week, it unfortunately had some issues. Luckily, with the help of our faculty instructors and talented classmate Tai Ching Cheung, we were able to resolve those issues and get textures on as needed. There were also some challenges determining how to

In order to get the model running in the scene, we spent a lot of time this week getting it ready for showtime. This included Kristy developing its hairstyle, Muhammad doing the rig, and Niharika texturing. Even for one piece of the project, it truly takes a village.

Chris Klug also delivered a draft of our script to us. Here’s a sneak preview:

With visuals and a concrete narrative to follow, the team is excited to get going.
