Student handbook for the ETC class that started August 26 2024
Ji won Kang was born and raised in Seoul Korea and he achieved his BFA degree in Industrial Design at Kook-min University.
Before graduate college, he joined a small animation studio which founded by his college alumni because his dream was becoming an animator. In that place, he made several animations which were ordered by NEXON, one of big game company in Korea, for advertising and promotion with 4 co-workers for 2 years.
After graduate college, he was still working on there but he really wanted to be a great artist. For that reason, he applied master degree program in animation at K-ARTS(Korea National University of Arts), the most famous and highly reputed art school in Korea. Fortunately, he got an admission from K- ARTS and started learning basic principles of animation. During his studying in K-ARTS, he had worked side by side for several companies such as SAMSUNG, Cj-Internet and SK C&C as a professional artist for 3 years.
In December 2008, he was elected one of scholarship students by KOCCA(Korean government agency) which has an international agreement with CMU ETC, and finally he came to Pittsburgh.
Ji won Kang loves animation, video games, fantasy novels and SF movies. He is also eager to make some good digital contents which could give a plenty of happiness to people around the world. He thinks that CMU ETC is the best place to prepare for achieving his dream.
