Yan loves the immersive and interactive experiences that games can offer, be it interactive storytelling and interacting with virtual characters in the game, or cooperative and competitive gameplay in multiplayer games (especially online roleplaying games or MMORPGs).
Yan especially believes in gameplay that tells the story, and also appropriate visuals that add to immersiveness. This is also why she is interested in computer graphics programming and scripting. Her undergraduate degree in computer engineering at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign gives her a solid understanding of how the underlying hardware works, and she has also picked up numerous other skills along the way (such as PHP, Python, MySQL, Unix, Photoshop etc). She hopes to become a technical artist/programmer who can contribute to her team and create immersive, impactful and creative products.
