Encore is a six-person team of graduate students from the Entertainment Technology Center. The team is designing and installing an immersive experience in the lobby of the Purnell Center for Titanic the Musical, performed by Carnegie Mellon University’s School of Drama. This experience is designed to engage guests with the stories, emotions, and historical realities of the Titanic. Our goal is to foster a sensory connection between the audience and the musical’s characters through interactive elements, leading them through an emotional journey. Through this journey, we aim to deepen the audience’s understanding of the Titanic’s legacy, highlight themes of inequality and fate, and ensure the victims’ stories are remembered.
