Can augmented reality be used to help instructors teach, and students learn, to play a musical instrument?
Music Everywhere is a team at Carnegie Mellon University’s Entertainment Technology Center. Our project will leverage the strengths of AR technology and the MIDI protocol to build a prototype that will help overcome some of the barriers to successful and satisfying musical learning by engaging guests, demonstrating essential musical concepts, providing interactive exercises and guiding learners through introductory-level repertoire. A significant emphasis will be placed on optimizing the user experience for the greatest potential, applicable and transferable musical learning. Our work will occur primarily between September and December 2016.
Project Instructors: Ralph Vituccio, Dave Culyba
Team members: Shantanu Das, Seth Glickman, Fu Yen Hsiao, Byunghwan (Phan) Lee
