Project Quessant is a third-person action-adventure level design project set in the Rifts Universe, bringing players into the mystical landscapes of Rifts England. Over 14 weeks, we aim to create a polished introductory level that introduces players to the game’s core mechanics, narrative, and immersive world-building.
Designed as a PC game with controller support, the journey begins as players take on the role of a Coalition outsider who stumbles into a crisis—the local Druids are under siege by the powerful Blood Druid, a force disrupting the balance of magic. To uncover the mystery of the unstable Millennium Tree, the player must defeat the Blood Druids by destroying his Alters and fighting.
The level features strategic combats, interactive magic mechanics, and well-designed puzzles that challenge players to think strategically, manipulate the environment, and master magical abilities. Developed in Unity HDRP with the Penguin Tool Kit, Project Quessant blends intricate level design, narrative depth, and engaging gameplay to craft a compelling and immersive opening chapter.
