Tabula Rasa is an ETC project working with the client Electronic Arts and the Positive Play Group to explore and create a character creation system that is more gender inclusive and not confined to the typical gender binary. We will focus on how to give players more options for self expression that aren’t linked only to the traditional options of male or female. Flexibility is the key of our project; we don’t want to take away, but rather open up what is available. By the end of the semester, we will have a prototype that showcases what future character creation systems at Electronic Arts could do to include more flexible gender expression.
