Commencement Weekend

Main Commencement Ceremony

  • The main ceremony will include remarks from the president, keynote speaker, student speaker and academic deans, in addition to recognition of the honorary degree recipients.
  • There is no limit on number of guests who can attend the main commencement ceremony and tickets are not needed.
  • The ceremony will take place on CMU’s campus beginning at 10 a.m. and will be approximately 1.5 hours long. All guests must be seated by 9:15 a.m. for the start of the student procession.
  • Access to guest seating will be restricted once the student procession begins.
  • Guests traveling to campus on Saturday, May 11, and Sunday, May 12, will be required to purchase parking prior to their arrival on campus. Parking spots are available on a first-come, first-served basis and must be purchased via the Park Mobile app for $10 per day/spot beginning April 26. Parking will not be available for day-of purchase on either May 11 or 12.

ETC Diploma Ceremony           

May 12, 2024, 4:00 pm – 8:30 pm        

Acrisure Stadium, UPMC Club, 100 Art Rooney Ave. Pittsburgh, PA 15212

The ETC Diploma Ceremony consist of a sit down dinner and a ceremony where we will distribute the diplomas for the ETC class of 2024. Doors will open at 4:00 pm, light appetizers from 4-4:45pm. Dinner will be at 4:45pm sharp.

Dress Code : Business Casual We will have racks for ETC graduates to hang their regalia for dinner and will allow time for students to change into their regalia before the ceremony.

Graduates are required to wear Academic Regalia during the Main Commencement Ceremony as well as the ETC Diploma Ceremony. To purchase cap, gown and master’s hoods, be sure to stop by Rangos Ballroom on March 13-14 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. After March 13-14, regalia will be available in the University Store. Regalia fees can be found here.

Guest:

Guest list should be given to Caitlin as soon as possible. There will be assigned seating to allow you and your guest to sit together. Seating charts will be available at the doors of the UPMC Club. The Class of 2025 will be invited to attend, but in a separate email.

Parking:

Parking is available in Gold Lot 1, located off of West General Robinson Street
