Dailies 03-21-11

Today is a busy BVW day for me, due to the presentation that BVW class is having tomorrow. Most of my time was used to make sure tomorrow’s class runs smoothly as we possible can.

Personally I have request a license to use The Foundry Nuke for our animations that we are creating. Thanks for Shirley and Scott to approve that for me.

Dailies 03-18-11

Received Dr. Lee’s comments about the animation. Have pretty good idea what to do for gun firing animation and smokes.

Still think what’s a good way to show the transaction from water scene to microscope comparison.

Dailies 03-17-11

Crazy BVW day for me because of all different issue and concerns. Wasn’t really able to sit down in project room, until late night. But good thing is all students are able to start with functional platforms.

Despite my absences, my machine is still rendering. So I actually not really loosing hours, all renders will be done tomorrow to have another composite which I hope is more dramatic them the current one.

Am aware about promo video, had some thoughts in mind now.

Dailies 03-16-11

Today we had video conference with Dr. Lee’s office at New Haven. Showed them our work and told them how our half looks like.

Got some feedbacks from them about the textures on bullets. We are requesting them to send us some fired bullets for references.

FTP was good transfer media, though it somehow messed up our file. So we end up to ZIP the file and re-send to them during our video conference. Will make a step by step instruction to play our game for them.

Mentioned that IMAGINE magazine from Johns Hopkins University is asking me to write an article about CSI that how art and science go together. This is a great oppertunity for our team to show what we are working on. We had permission to talk about our work from ETC and University of New Haven, so stand by on that. Article is due 28th of March.

Dailies 03-15-11

Everyone seems like the video we had for ballistics test firing. I am actually in process of improving the particle effects for water bobbles.

It’s BVW day for me since I wasn’t on my duty for past 2 weeks. Doing some debugging for students.

Dailies 03-14-11

We had our half presentation today, everyone went well. (Though I kind of rush at the end)

Team is having little bit of break tonight, since we all try to push a bit more last week because of today’s presentation.

Crime scene and DNA matching are next.

Dailies 03-09-11

This is the first dailies I write after my absence of GDC. GDC was definetely fun and helpful, if I have spare time I am definitely trying some new tricks I learn to CSI project.

Today we practiced our half presentation, will rehearsal tomorrow in front Shirley and Scott.

Started on bullet in to water tank.

Dailies 02-25-11

Finished comping gun firing animation. Teammates like it so far, will see how it look like in game and with Sophie’s sound.

GDC next week, I am flying out to San Francisco tomorrow. Will have access to all resource with remote access to school, and can work at San Fran too.

I will return to Pittsburgh on Monday night  7th of March.

Dailies 02-24-11

Done compositing with x-ray, gun, scanning, and flame element in to one final comp.

Will ask around what everyone think.

Dailies 02-23-11

Had process grade meeting with Shirley and Scott today, talk for awhile about team and myself. Glad they liked what we are having now. But also pointed out that we still have far way to go.

Team like what movies I’ve generate these couple days. Still rendering at this point for some other passes
