ETC spin-off Music Everywhere, Inc. has been named a winner in the worldwide HoloLens contest held by Microsoft and Unity.  With over 1,000 submissions, their AR piano learning application has won the competition’s grand prize.  The team of ETC alumni co-founders Seth Glickman (17), Fu Yen Hsiao (17), and Byunghwan Lee (17) was awarded the $100K cash prize, plus a HoloLens DevKit and a 12-month Unity Pro subscription.

Music Everywhere demo
Music Everywhere started as the student pitch project of Seth, Fu Yen, Byunghwan and fellow classmate, Shantanu Das (17), during the fall 2016 semester.  The team, under the direction of project instructors Ralph Vituccio and Dave Culyba, created their first prototype using the HoloLens and a Roland digital piano in 15 weeks.  After completing their MET in May of 2017, the co-founders were successful in their bid to join the nationally ranked software accelerator, AlphaLab in Pittsburgh, PA, as part of the 18th cohort.  The Music Everywhere team has presented and demonstrated at GDC 2017 (San Francisco), NIME 2017 (Copenhagen) and SIGGRAPH 2017 (Los Angeles).

You can download the Music Everywhere HoloLens app from the Microsoft Store.
