Paradigm is a 6-person team of designers and programmers from Carnegie Mellon University‘s Entertainment Technology Center (ETC) focused on creating a live mobile-based experience for 50-100 people. We aim to create a paradigm shift about the value of art in society, and we set out to explore the role of the arts in civic engagement through a networked multiplayer game that challenges players’ assumptions and encourages creative collaboration. By focusing on the potential of fun as a vehicle for change and the idea of creation as empowerment, we plan to present our game at the upcoming Games For Change Festival in June 2019. Our goal is to create an experience that creates a lasting change in our intended audience and allows players to walk away feeling inspired to innovate on new methodologies for creating societal impact through art.
