Week 2

Research

The team finished all the readings. We got much information on nurses and hand hygiene. We understand nurses’ tasks, background, and challenges. We also understand hand hygiene protocols: 20s rules, 5 moments to wash hands, sanitizers, etc. The team arranged interviews with 5 nurses, and we finished 1 interview in this week. The interview was informative and helpful. We also found good reference projects/experience.

We draw a lot of insights from our research and we completed the stakeholder map.

However, in the research, we run into a problem. We found there is a gap between client’s need and the user’s need. In our interview with nurses, the nurses are well-educated on hand hygiene, and we didn’t see the necessity for more hand hygiene training.

So we decided to dive deep more next week. We aim to find the pain point of user’s needs, what nurses currently need to improve, and what is missing in the current training.

Development

In our first brainstorm session, we came up 9 different and interesting ideas. After throughout discussion, we narrowed down into 3 ideas fall into 3 categories: nurse’s perspective, hand perspective, and virus perspective.

Other

We are working on logo, posters and half sheet. Baring the pandemic environment, we overcome so many problems. We are working remotely. One of our team members was tested positive for covid, and we had to cancel the hospital visitings.
