Week 11

Week 11

The team is busy with the development this week. Here are the things we are working on for this week: Rendering in Maya, Unity Programming, and polishing UI.

Rendering in Maya

We are moving our rendering from game engine to Maya. We have finished the patient room scene this week. Based on the rough playblast, our client gave us some feedback and details we need to change: the urine drainage should using a gradual cylinder, two nurses need to have different jobs to do in the room.

From the rough playblast, we also noticed the animations are not smooth enough. We will polish our animation next week.

Since we are rendering offline, the rendering time is very long. We are researching on how to make it more feasible to render, probably separating the rendering job to teammates computer, or using a third-party rendering service.

Due to NDA, we are not able to share our renderings here. Here is a screenshot for reference.

Unity Programming

We had great progress in programming this week. We have finished the button click function and choice selection functions. Here is a demo video for the button click function.

Polishing UI

We changed our color palette for UI based on our renderings from Maya.

For the core design of UI, we added a badge iconography in our UI system. Since the experience is the journey of the main virus to spread in the hospital and infect more people, badge system is great representation to show the player’s work.
