Our Installation Overview

By Dustin Stephan & Team

A lot of preparation and planning went into our installation.  The  two week process was divided in half with the milestone of having our Grand Opening Show on the Friday of the first week.

Although the scepter and lights were not read this gave us something to push for so we could show off Tom to the client and guests.

Alex, our mechanical designer came onsite as well as Time Eck to review the mechanical design and give the thumbs up.  Dustin worked with alum Christine Barnes on completing Tom’s soft good transformation including approaching how his mouth would be attached.

Niharika was able to work towards finalized animations since she was able to see Tom perform in the space  Rajat and Josh worked on setting up the communication between the balcony and the touch screen interface.

Our plan of having Tom wake up father time by communicating to the original PLC worked well.  We had been interfacing with itec about this bit of wizardry for months, so to see the plan come to fruition was exciting.

The second week we were able to get the DMX lighting for the scepter up and running as well as address the sounds issues.

The largest problem we faced was Tom snapping.  Eventually we were able to overcome all of these issues and leave Tom operating as intended.

We are thankful to all those that helped us with a successful installation.
