Dailies 9/27/2010

What I did:

  • More work on character puppeteering (head).
  • Upgraded project to Unity 3.
  • A bunch of code-cleanup.
  • Research into Unity shaders.

What I plan to do:

  • Yet more character programming. (expressions, turning, zooming, etc...)
  • World object features depending on what Cynthia gets done.

Daily Update 9-27-10

What I did today:

  1. Designed new Puzzles
  2. Met with Programmers to discuss Puzzle Creation System
  3. Established a master spreadsheet with comments and color-rules to keep everyone understanding of what has (and hasn't) been completed, and what still needs more brainstorming.

What I'll do tomorrow:

  1. Create digital versions of the puzzles, making iteration passes on a select set.

Weekly Update of Dailies

Things I did this past week:

  1. Designed many new paper prototypes for puzzle designs
  2. Edited the slideshow for the quarters presentation
  3. Worked to compile design documents so that we have a single valuable, readable resource listing design priorities and what needs to be built
  4. Met with the team to address ways to become more Agile
  5. Met with the team to resolve numerous design issues and plan others.

Things I did today:

  1. Designed more puzzles
  2. Upgraded to Unity 3.0
  3. Met with programmers to discuss puzzle designs, to plan what puzzle assets need to be made, and to decide asset priority.

  • Redo character input based on decisions made.

Meeting Minutes 9/23/2010

Today, after the agile talk, we focused on what was the most important aspects of the talk.  We decided to narrow it down into a few things.

  • Prioritize
  • Prototype
  • Welcome Change
  • Commit as a Team
  • Transparency

Following this discovery, we decided that we really needed to figure out some the core features of our game and then to prioritize the creation of those features.

Number one on our list was all about creating the character and trying to figure out how to control the character and what we will allow the players to do.  We broke this down into smaller details that will be reflected into the documents page on this website.

We did the same for our number two, which was to create the rules of the worlds and how to show visibility/invisibility and all the other stuff.  This will also be on one of our living docs in the website.
